Silence of the Quails
Hello, Clarice...
Various Republicans are peeling from Cheney like translucent skins from fava beans. According to this Washington Post article, several are openly and unapologetically criticizing the poor judgment Cheney's exercising in the shooting incident of attorney Harry Whittington. It seems increasingly clear that ties to Cheney may cost many GOP re-elections across the country.
With so many finally jumping out of the line of Cheney's fire, I'm starting to feel a bit sorry for the president, who must be tossing and turning at night due to this Silence of the Quails thriller going on around him. Perhaps it's time to clean house. No one likes to admit a mistake or show disloyalty, but the POTUS might consider these perspectives:
I don't know. But if I were Mr. Bush, I'd consider it time to quit playing "the great big fat person" in this movie. It's getting late and it's just not wise to keep helping those with a habit of lurking on dark and secretive roads.

Perhaps it's time to clean house. No one likes to admit a mistake or show disloyalty, but the POTUS might consider these perspectives:
- Women in disappointing relationships often come to this conclusion: "I can do bad by myself."
Men frequently express the sentiment of being dragged down this way: "With friends like this, who needs enemies?"
- Drug counselors might admonish Bush for being an enabler, something of an equally culpable party in keeping an addict free to drug.
- Even foreign policy guru Brent Scowcroft, who served with Cheney under George Bush, Sr., has said that he doesn't recognize the man who now occupies the vice presidency.

I don't know. But if I were Mr. Bush, I'd consider it time to quit playing "the great big fat person" in this movie. It's getting late and it's just not wise to keep helping those with a habit of lurking on dark and secretive roads.

Another Excellent Piece...
Who else in contemporary American Politics has done a better job of proclaiming that they can do bad all by myself" while still playing FIRST ENABLER to a megalomanic sociopathic sexual predator than your no.1 presidential choice: Hillary Clinton.
Of course the Clintons attacked their victims, using the IRS to audit and the press to lampoon...
Cheney accepted his blame...

A great post. But I doubt that Bush will ever cut his ties to Cheyney. If he hasn't had the guts to do it by now, it will never happen.

If the Donkeycrats want to win they will need a real PLATFORM...not an AGENDA based soley on attacking President Bush or his Administration...
The American People are Keen Observers and at the end of the day they will see the attacks on Cheney as another cheap political stunt...
But please, please don't tell them that the 23rd Amendment limits a President to two terms and that Bush is not running again: that would spoil the fun!!!

It amazes me that a man can be shot and seems to be near death and nothing happens to the shooter. This ain't how it goes in my hood at all.
lol.
Okay Anon.

Otherwise we might as all live there in 'da hood' wit ya...
....and what kind of 'life' would THAT that be? LOL.

hey keith,
i gotta believe that Bush is seriously struggling with keeping Cheney around. at some point, the other Republicans are going to start *whispering LOUDLY* in Bush's ear about cleaning house before they all go down with the ship.
uda,
i wish i had your phone number. i'd call you about buying some swampland in florida. and i don't even own any swampland. it's clear that i could make millions off of you. 'cause you'll buy any dern thing.
Viqi:
As a matter of fact...I've owned swampland in Florida since 2000...
...but I keep having to raise the price since so many of the liberals keep wanting to buy it...
Cheney's value to the war on terror and neo-communist liberalism exceeds in the WHOLE any inconveniences he presents to the Democratic Agenda or the petulance of the left wing media...
He ain't going nowhere...

uda,
okay, have it your way. keep Buffalo Dick in office, then. down all your boys will go come 2008!
Viqi:
The consistent failure of the liberal left's politics is in trying too hard to create an issue where none exists - at least to the satisfaction of the American public...they go overboard, and it becomes painfully evident to reasonable people that the left is desperate for anything to undermine this President...
They think that by shaking the President by going after his Administration will damage Mr. Bush...but...wow! He gets what he wants anyhow....two conservative supreme court justices....the Patriot Act extension...and the NSA issue flushed down da loo...
...ya think they would learn THAT'S why they will lose...
...and Buffalo Dick stays...

'Amen' is all I can say. I'm not a Bush person, but it's hard to see even him keep getting caught out there due to Dickie boy's B.S.
